We currently have an opening for a Quality Assurance Coordinator based out of our location in Richmond, BC.
The Quality Assurance Coordinator will report directly to the Quality, Compliance and Design Manager and Proactively maintain a safe working environment, focusing on prevention and ensuring continued compliance with quality and food safe programs.
Job responsibilities for this position:
- Maintains complete and accurate records of QA documents.
- Verifies production process records and follows up with operators daily.
- Documents issues and concerns for the Senior Leadership Team.
- Maintains complete inventory records of hold and release programs.
- Ensures high GMP standards through daily plant GMP audits; communicates deficiencies to the Quality, Compliance and Design Manager; establishes reports and trends of GMP audits.
- Supports the implementation of Quality/Food Safety Programs and Standard Operating Procedures; adheres to the quality programs and standards.
- Conducts internal audits of our products and programs to ensure compliance with all company and customer standards.
- Aides in reviewing and addressing customer complaints.
- Reviews SOPs as per management program.
- Manages non-conformance records (NCR) by issuing NCR’s, corrective actions, and monthly reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and requirements for this position:
- Knowledge of and experience with GMP, HACCP, and Global Food Safety Initiative Programs (GFSI – SQF, BRC etc.) and/or ISO.
- QA/QC experience in manufacturing, packaging, and/or distribution.
- Previous experience in the food industry is an asset.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college with specialization in Food Science is considered an asset.
- Accountable and reliable, a quick learner.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills and has excellent deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize amidst the pressure of tight deadlines and to handle all enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Highly detail oriented.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
