Crown Packaging is an integrated manufacturer and marketer of corrugated cartons and sheets, printed paper wraps and wallboard tape. We have built a strong and loyal customer base by developing and nurturing strategic partnership style relationships.
The two converting facilities, known as Crown Packaging and BoxMaster, operate with extensive customer reach and distribution capabilities throughout British Columbia and Alberta. Crown was recently acquired by Atlas Holdings with the objective of delivering significant growth and value creation.
We currently have an opening for a permanent, full-time Logistics Manager to join our Operations team, based out of our location in Richmond, BC. This role reports directly to the Sr. Manager Process Improvement & Operations.

Please note, our location is not situated near public transit, applicants must have their own vehicle.

Position Overview
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of Crown Packaging’s logistics and transportation functions in a unionized environment. This role ensures the efficient, cost- effective, and timely flow of raw materials, finished products, and related resources across our operations in British Columbia and Alberta. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross- functional teams, manage supplier and carrier relationships, and drive continuous improvement in logistics systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Logistics & Supply Chain Management
• Develop, implement, and maintain logistics strategies to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Forecast material requirements in collaboration with Operations, Sales, and Procurement to ensure uninterrupted production and delivery schedules.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, implementing contingency plans for disruptions.
Transportation & Distribution Oversight
• Manage all inbound and outbound transportation activities, including fleet coordination, carrier selection, and route optimization.
• Ensure compliance with transportation safety regulations and environmental requirements.
• Oversee scheduling, loading, and unloading operations to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, and third- party logistics providers.
• Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to secure competitive rates and service reliability.
• Collaborate with internal teams- including Production, Customer Service, and Sales to align logistics activities with business objectives.
Systems & Performance Optimization
• Implement and manage ERP and logistics management systems to improve visibility, tracking, and reporting.
• Manage logistics KPIs such as on- time delivery, freight costs, and inventory turnover, and develop action plans to address gaps.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost efficiency, service quality, and operational sustainability.
Inventory & Materials Management
• Oversee inventory levels at production facilities and distribution points, ensuring optimal stock availability.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Sales and Services teams to align materials supply with demand forecasts.
Sustainability & Compliance
• Promote environmentally responsible logistics practices, including waste reduction and sustainable transportation solutions.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to transportation, hazardous goods, and workplace safety.

Qualifications
• 7+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in vendor negotiation, contract management, and freight cost optimization.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret logistics data and develop actionable strategies.
• Proficiency with ERP and logistics management systems.
• Exceptional organizational, leadership, and problem- solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
