The two converting facilities, known as Crown Packaging and BoxMaster, operate with extensive customer reach and distribution capabilities throughout British Columbia and Alberta. Crown was recently acquired by Atlas Holdings with the objective of delivering significant growth and value creation.

We currently have an opening for a permanent, full-time Corrugator Superintendent to join our Operations team, based out of our location in Richmond, BC. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Please note, our location is not situated near public transit, applicants must have their own vehicle.

 

Position Overview

The Corrugator Superintendent will oversee the daily operations of our Corrugator department. This role is responsible for supervising and developing employees, ensuring safety compliance, monitoring production quality, and driving operational efficiency. The Superintendent will coordinate maintenance, analyze production trends, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to support plant performance, cost reduction, and on-time delivery. With a strong focus on leadership, operational excellence, and workplace safety, this position plays a key role in supporting plant performance and employee engagement.

 

 

Job responsibilities for this position:

  • Contributes to the effective and profitable operation of the plant by directing and supervising the Corrugator employees,
    • ensures employees have the proper tools, training and supplies to perform safely and efficiently in their roles,
    • conducts regular training and coaching sessions, as required,
    • investigates and reviews investigations, makes recommendations for disciplinary action pending circumstances,
    • ensures the Corrugator Supervisors have regular performance reviews, feedback and follow up, as
  • Oversees all Corrugator maintenance, planned repairs, upgrades or installs and
  • Reviews all shift reports, attends daily Production/Shipping meeting, reports on the previous 24 hours on the Corrugator,
    • analyzes for trends, both positive and negative,
    • troubleshoots daily issues,
    • records daily stats and reviews with Supervisors as
  • Ensures quality products are produced economically, helps to improve the quality and information system to reduce errors in the plant, reduces on-time delivery and paper waste.
  • Monitors quality from the Corrugator production, reviews all NCRs, recommends changes to improve, and sets up informational crew meetings as needed.
  • Monitors supply usage on paper and
  • Oversees the area safety program,
    • works towards a zero-incident rate by safety inspections/investigations/meetings and ensures plant rules and regulations are followed,
    • attends monthly safety meetings,
    • organizes monthly safety training and coaching sessions, as needed, with the
  • Drafts/updates the schedules daily and weekly, reviews attendance and coverage
  • Develops ideas to recognize equipment upgrades or process changes, brings forward new or improved methods of producing
  • Regularly supports the facilitation of continuous improvement teams with operations management
  • Attends daily maintenance, Main Safety, Operations and other review meetings, addresses issues as they
  • Reports daily, weekly and monthly on safety, productivity, non-conformance and/or material quality issues to management and throughput KPIs.

Qualifications and requirements for this position:

  • +10 years supervisory experience in a union environment required.
  • +3 years of work-related experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary education is
  • Working knowledge of WSBC regulations.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience required.
  • Proficient when using Excel, Word and
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal
  • Superior problem-solving
  • Detail oriented and has the ability to multi-task.
  • Able to work in a group as well as
  • Level 2 OFA certificate
  • Strong work ethic, is dependable and
