With operations in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, the group includes an integrated containerboard mill, three converting facilities, and multiple distribution centers.

 

The company specializes in manufacturing recycled and virgin kraft containerboard, kraft pulp, and specialty products, while its converting operations excel in customer engagement and distribution networks across British Columbia and Alberta

We currently have an opening for a permanent, full-time Electrician to join our Maintenance Team at our plant located at 3300 Viking Way, Richmond, BC. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and performs preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment.
  • Dismantles, modifies, and maintains electrical and electronic components, as needed.
  • Determines and follows procedures for testing existing and newly installed machines and equipment to maximize output.
  • Ensures electrical preventive maintenance, Safety, Good Manufacturing, and other practices are followed in compliance with regulatory and legislative codes, while always maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Communicates regularly with Maintenance and Operations personnel, suppliers, and contractors to support plant throughput safely and efficiently.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment while performing duties.
  • Operates forklifts, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of Industrial experience is an asset.
  • Proficient and outstanding communication abilities
  • Necessitates interacting with personnel in charge of maintenance, the Operations group, and every other department as well as vendors and contractors.
  • Complies with and adheres to all company policies and guidelines.
  • An individual who is responsible, trustworthy, and skilled at time management.
  • Willingness to work on shift rotation.
  • Capable of lifting and Carrying objects when needed.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Red Seal Electrical certification is required.
  • Experience with paper industry machinery is preferred, particularly with corrugated boxes or other conversion processes.
  • Experience with forklifts and scissor lifts is advantageous.

 

Shift Rotation:

  • Day: 6:00am – 2:30pm
  • Afternoon: 2:30pm – 11:00pm
  • Graveyard: 11:00pm – 6:00am
    • paid an extra hour to constitute eight (8) hour shift worked when five (5) hours or more has been worked
