Crown Packaging is a division of Crown Paper Group which is a regional leader in the paper and containerboard industry, comprising four business divisions: Port Townsend Paper Company, Crown Packaging, Boxmaster, Viking Way Plant, and Industrial Products. With operations in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, the group includes an integrated containerboard mill, three converting facilities, and multiple distribution centers.
The company specializes in manufacturing recycled and virgin kraft containerboard, kraft pulp, and specialty products, while its converting operations excel in customer engagement and distribution networks across British Columbia and Alberta.
We currently have two (2) openings for a permanent, full-time Millwright to join our team, based out of our location in Richmond, BC. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Please note, our location is not situated near public transit, applicants must have their own vehicle.

What do you bring?
Main Responsibilities:
- Works around and in proximity of rotating (operating) equipment to troubleshoot, diagnose equipment failure, and carry out repairs.
- Completes assigned and scheduled work orders and performs preventive maintenance on all associated equipment.
- Determines parts required for repairs and replacement.
- Dismantles, modifies, and maintains all equipment as needed.
- Reads and interprets drawings, diagrams, and plans.
- Determines and follows procedures for testing existing and newly installed machines and equipment to maximize output.
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment while performing duties.
- Follows all maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory codes while always maintaining a safe work environment.
Requirements:
- Canadian Red Seal Millwright certification- required.
- 5 years of Industrial experience- required.
- Willingness to work on shift rotation: Day/Aft/Gyd.
- Proficient and outstanding communication abilities.
- Necessitates interacting with personnel in charge of maintenance, the Operations group, and every other department as well as vendors and contractors.
- Complies with and adheres to all company policies and guidelines.
- An individual who is responsible, trustworthy, and skilled at time management.
- Capable of lifting and Carrying objects when needed.
Experience:
- Experience with paper industry machinery is preferred, particularly with corrugated boxes or other conversion processes.
- Welding and machining knowledge is an asset.
- Experience with forklifts and scissor lifts is advantageous (we do provide in-house training).
Shift Rotation:
- Day: 7:00am – 3:00pm (4-6 Weeks)
- Afternoon: 3:00pm – 11:00pm (2 Weeks)
- Graveyard: 11:00pm – 7:00am (2 Weeks)
