Position Summary:
We currently have an opening for a permanent, full-time Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager to join our team, this role reports directly to the Services Manager.
The Quality & Compliance Manager, with safety as first priority they will administer a plant-wide quality system. This position is based out of our location in Richmond, BC.
General Responsibilities:
- Manage a plant-wide quality program based on prevention through education, directly responsible to inform and educate “conformance to requirements”. Has the authority to halt production when products do not conform to requirements.
- Manage and maintain all special programs including food safe designations.
- Direct investigations into non-conformances and ensure corrective action is implemented to prevent re-occurrences.
- Manage the quarantine area. Document and report on the rework requirements along with the cost to re-work non-conforming product.
- Administer the quality information and reporting system.
- Manage the lab.
- Coordinate activities, areas, and employees to keep a safe and clean facility that is responsible to our environment. Send annual reports to GVRD and environment Canada. Ensure we are in compliance with regulations / emissions.
- Undertake other duties including but not limited to, projects and initiatives as assigned within the scope of the role.
Qualifications and requirements for this position:
- Knowledge of relevant food safety systems (HACCP, ISO) and or food safe packaging IFS PACSecure.

- Sound understanding of the corrugated product industry.
- Knowledge of production processes, and general maintenance of equipment is key.
- Solid understanding of needs of the company and customer, thus clear, concise communication and listening skills are required.
- Minimum 2-year diploma.
- 5 years within a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the corrugated industry.
- Computer skills – proficiency in Word/Excel/Outlook.
- A team player with strong and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitask in a busy environment a must.
- Strong attention to detail; efficiency and accuracy.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Accountable, dependable, personable and professional.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment with multiple interruptions.
